New 3 Inch Pro Kit for Buried Downspouts from French Drain Man

Hey guys, I’m excited to show you our latest product – the 3 inch Pro Kit for buried downspouts. This kit is perfect for those who want a high-performance drainage system that’s easy to install and maintain.

What’s Included

The 3 inch Pro Kit comes with everything you need to get started:

– Leaf filter
– French drain (not quite a 90)
– 25 feet of 3 inch corrugated pipe
– Catch basin with offset coupler and solid cap
– Adjustable pop-up emitter
– Drain fabric

Why 3 Inch Pipe ?

You might be wondering why we went with 3 inch pipe instead of the standard 4 inch. Well, there are a few reasons:

1. Easier to navigate around obstacles like sprinkler lines
2. Higher flow rate due to our custom fittings
3. Automatically pitched for optimal drainage

In the video, we show an example of how the 3 inch pipe allows us to avoid cutting into a brand new sprinkler system. With 4 inch pipe, we would have had to cut all three lines – not ideal!

Custom Fittings for Maximum Performance

One of the key features of the 3 inch Pro Kit is our custom fittings. The French drain fitting isn’t quite a 90 degree angle – we took out a few degrees to achieve a higher flow rate and better performance.

> “We took a few degrees out of it so that we get a lot higher flow rate, a lot higher performance.”

The adjustable pop-up emitter is also a game-changer. It’s slightly ramped so debris just comes right out, making it self-cleaning. Plus, it’s the only pop-up you can actually get your hand down into for easy maintenance.

Easy Installation

While the 3 inch Pro Kit is geared towards contractors and experienced DIYers, we’ve made installation as straightforward as possible. Here’s a quick overview:

1. Cut the riser to fit and attach leaf filter
2. Connect French drain fitting to downspout using 3 inch coupler
3. Lay drain fabric in trench and add layer of pea gravel
4. Set catch basin on pea gravel and connect to French drain
5. Attach 3 inch corrugated pipe to catch basin using offset coupler
6. Run pipe to desired location and connect to pop-up emitter
7. Backfill trench with drain stone

We recommend getting the drains at least 20 feet away from the house for best results. The kit includes 25 feet of pipe, so you’ve got plenty to work with.

Leaching Water Away

One important thing to note is that we don’t recommend taping the connections at the catch basin or pop-up emitter. Instead, we put drainage stone underneath so that any remaining water can leach into the subsoil after the bulk water has been removed.

“After the system’s done running, you’re going to remove all the bulk water during the storm.”

This allows the system to handle heavy rains while also preventing standing water that could attract mosquitos or other pests.

 A Versatile Solution

Whether you’re dealing with a tricky sprinkler system, tight spaces, or just want the best possible performance, the 3 inch Pro Kit has you covered. It’s a versatile solution that can handle just about any buried downspout project.
