When Should You Install a French Drain With a New House

We are installing a french drain at a brand new house. The owner noticed after moving into their new home that water collected in the back yard. They had a problem and they are making sure it’s getting taken care of before they install a sprinkler system and turf.

When we are called in this early we don’t need to disturb the sprinkles or the turf which saves on labour costs. Due to these savings, I was able to give the homeowner a better price for their system.

It is more economical for us to come and install this system with the bigger equipment and not have to worry about using the smaller equipment across plywood boards. We are spending fewer man-hours installing this french drain system.

We had two feet of natural fall which is great, we are using it to encourage the water to go to the storm sewer.
