Downspout Cleanout Leaf Filter

As a drainage contractor, one of our biggest complaints about downspout cleanouts was that they would spray and splash up against the house, which risks all kinds of damage to the home’s foundation.

We worked closely with engineers to create a downspout leaf filter and vented cleanout that would contain roof runoff water. This filled a much needed gap in the drainage market. I wish I had this part my whole career.

No More Splashing

Water falls through our leaf filter cleanout without any spraying or splashing. We designed it with a door that funnels the water through buried downspouts. When water enters the cleanout, it splashes off the inside of the door and sends the water down through the system.

Also, the shape of our vented cleanout allows water to funnel gradually. The fluid dynamics are second to none.

Vented Cleanout and Leaf Filter – All in One

First and foremost, this is a vented downspout cleanout, but we also built it as a leaf filter with a removable screen.

Patented Vent for Cleanout

Downspouts are powered by gravity. During a heavy rain event they can become full of water if there is nowhere to vent. Venting your downspout at the house will allow that water to keep velocity and flow at a higher speed.

Also, if you have a freeze up or if grass grows over your popup emitter, you’ll still be able to vent the water at the cleanout.

Removable Screen for Leaf Filter

This is the first cleanout on the market with a screen that you can remove, if desired. However, if you are trying to filter out leaves and large debris, we do recommend that you keep the screen in place.

You can also remove the center of the screen when you need to access the downspout line. This makes it easy to run a camera, a garden hose or a heat cable in the winter to keep water from freezing in the line.
